Was very popular here for several months. I like it lyrically, but not musically. The lyrics are nice compared to most mainstream pop music, but everything else about the song is repetitive, somewhat unoriginal (not in the sense of being plagiarised, but in the sense of "this has all been done before already"), and a bit boring.

Most sold songs and albums in Italy for the year 2017. Lots of international songs this year, while local singers seems to point toward more "modern sounding music", even if the result is often quite questionable.

The Sanremo festival, which is the main music event of the year here in Italy, ended yesterday night. This year winner song is quite different from usual, at least it is not another cheesy and old-styled love song. And this song has also been chosen for the Eurovision song contest.



This is actually a song about terrorism and war, here there is a translation of the lyrics:

Sanremo is actually older than Eurovision, and in here it is much more famous and followed than Eurovision itself. It would be extremely reductive to classify it as a "qualifying round" for entering Eurovision.
The style is completely different too, in Sanremo there are always a lot of old-styled songs and all the music is still played by a real orchestra. 

In practice in the last few years it was decided to don't organise a specific competition for choosing the song for Eurovision and to use the results of Sanremo instead. But the most of singers who partecipate to Sanremo do it in order to win that contest and don't care at all about Eurovision. So it is quite frequent for the Sanremo winner to refuse to partecipate to Eurovision, and in this case the organisers have to find someone else (as it happened in 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2016 for example). 

I've listened to Stellardrone quite a bit recently. Relaxing ambient and nice background music. The best thing is that this guy is an amateur and makes music just for fun. All his work is available for free, though you may donate money.

Easily my favourite song no-one ever heard. Solid alternative rock stuff as well, thoughts Giorbanguly ? Why tf the uploader put Alex Jones' voice at the end though shall remain a mystery. Dude's everywhere lol...
