Tossing up between B and C. In the end I gave it C, it's too cold overall even though the summers are quite nice. It looks like some highland turkish climate in the northeast (inb4 gole) I was wondering where a climate similar to this may exist. Possibly a high elevation somewhere in northern California as well? Nah, Northern California would be too warm during winter unless you're like 10,000+ feet in elevation. Your dream climate is actually quite similar to Mazama, Washington, except your climate is more continental and snowier. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazama,_Washington#Climate

Would definitely be an "A+" climate in my book. How did you find this place?

I've always known about Mazama/Winthrop in Washington because they hold that state's record low, and I've always been fascinated by those climates. The main difference I see is that Feb - April in your climate is a good deal colder. Not too far from you either.

To get a continentality as extreme as the OP posted, he'd need to go east of the Rockies. But then he'd lose the dry summer / wet winter pattern and get summer as the wettest season.

I was in Winthrop last year. Love the old west look. Pretty good climate too.

Wow, that area looks gorgeous. I definitely need to take a trip to Washington State in the near future.
Yeah, east of the Rockies is much more continental but much more summertime convection so a summer maximum in terms of precip. Rpvan's dream climate could maybe exist somewhere just west of the Rockies? Inland enough to be more continental...west enough to have a wet winter/dry summer pattern. Probably not though.
Mazama/Winthrop is probably about as close to his ideals as you'll get.
