My place had a D year. The best ever was a B- in 1997 and a close C+ in 2014.
Last year had big issues though.
Jan-Feb began with a brief cold wave with a -20°C low and some snow but mellowed out into a complete blah low-diurnal February with constant 0°/-2°C days
Spring was too continental, it swung left right and center between mild days and even a couple of hot May days, with frost records or thereabouts for May and some downright freezing periods.
June was, as most often in recent years, ruined by ugly westerlies from the still cold Atlantic Ocean, but still not bringing the expected rain for such winds.
July was even weirder. The avg high easily beat 22°C which is alright, but it barely ever rose above 25°C in spite of all of that. The temps were planted in the deep-low 20's most of the time and the wind was also rather intense so it didn't even feel that warm most often. Also, overnight lows were miserable considering we're right on the coast but they were more akin to cool summers and the average only just squeezed 12°C right at the end. Incredibly enough, in spite of the crummer we had a drought. It was almost shocking to see lawns looking like bloody Almería after having a glorified Eureka month...
Ah well, August was alright but very moderated also. September was way too maritime instead, the polar opposite of May, ending milder than May on average in spite of a lower avg high and 9°C lower (!) absolute max. Gloomy as hell too.
The autumn instead was unusually sunny, but any autumn warmth spikes were gone and buried and so we got our last 20°C day sometime late August, which is outright misery. December was also a pile of nonsense, lots of cold rain, the only snow that fell a goner within 2-3 days and a "green Xmas".
So end conclusion, a bit worse year than normal: D instead of the normal D+
