The first quarter final is here! Denver very narrowly wins this for me due to the warmer winter days. Detroit got the last spot into the quarters since it edged Omaha out on a tiebreaker due to gaining more votes in the first round. Six cities are waiting in the wings: Charlotte, Portland (OR), Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Honolulu and Charleston (SC). In the case of a tiebreaker, the top seed from previous rounds will go through. That means Detroit has to get more votes to pass through, whereas equal votes will send Denver and the other top seeds from stage 1 through to the semis in their respective matchups.

It's much easier to answer this time when you don't have 12 different climates to judge at once lol, but this is tough: I'd love Denver's sunny winters but the day-to-day weather seems too random, I don't want 25C one day in April and then a snowstorm the next day etc, plus the summers must be very dry.
Detroit it is but not by much, the winters there do look a lot more grim.

Detroit it is, but not by much. Denver got 15 mentions to 10 for Detroit but I think this one might be tighter than that would forecast. Season lovers get their fill from either one and Denver is indeed very dry and has quite weak shoulder season lows It only won by a hair for me since Detroit's summers are so humid and winter lows so meagre.

I give the edge to Detroit for being cloudy and generally cooler. Denver certainly isn't boring, but it's too sunny.

Detroit for being wetter and having more consistently cold winters. I like Denver's variability, but would like that variability with colder averages. I don't want the potential of 20 C weather in January.

Lol, nah not really. Just don't like warm weather in winter. Haha, understood Some global warming might solve the problem with the Yakutsk summers and then you're good to go!

Denver by far. It’s an A vs. a C.

I'd choose Denver for overall drier condition and mild average lows during the summer season.

Denver. A lot more dynamic than Detroit, albeit with milder winter averages. Lots of sunshine, more snowfall and drier summers give Denver the edge in this one.

Denver for me. Overall warmer, more sunny and far more epic landscape around the city.

Denver is much better. It is also a lot warmer than it should be for its altitude.

Detroit.
I like variability in winter but Denver is a bit too dry overall and Detroit is for my standards quite variable too. Summers are better in Detroit anyway.

Denver is too dry but otherwise it's better in pretty much every regard. I like the changeability outside of summer.

Denver looks like a really interesting climate, infact I'd love to experience a climate like that it may even be my new ideal climate BUT its too dry and winters look like it can get warm...
So Detroit for the reliable consistently cold winters.

Denver of course. I lived there during its driest/wettest months in 2015, which was a 'Cwa' year, not Bsk. Colorado Springs was a Cwb that year.
