Two quite decent climate by US standards in my opinion go head to head in the first of the two semi finals. Seeded #2 (Charlotte) and #3 (Portland) all of the top seeds got through to this round. My vote is for Portland thanks to having summers way more to my taste. That means I can handle a bit miserable winters. Still quite close though, just as with Charleston vs Charlotte. Portland is probably B for me whereas Charlotte is C+.

Portland, for inland standards. Higher summer diurnal ranges win it for Portland, but the winters are colder and better in Charlotte; it isn't a mismatch.

My fake Honolulu vote didn’t work lol.
Charlotte it is. It’s a C vs. an E+.

Charlotte. More interesting, better cold snaps, and wetter summers.

Portland, winters don't look much fun but then neither do Charlotte's. Portland summers look fantastic though.

Portland for the comfortable summers, gloomy winters, and lower sunshine hours.
