This will be my last Russian climate battle. My previous ones I stuck with capital cities, in this battle it will be any place that has an annual mean higher than 12C or lower than -12C. I of course may have missed some places, but I think I got most of them. To make it easier to find your preferred place I have also added the annual mean temperatures, the precipitation, and the sunshine hours. 1. Adler: 15.6C (60.1F) | N.A | N.A 2. Sochi: 14.2C (57.6F) | 1,703mm (67.05in) | 2,174hrs 3. Tuapse: 14.0C (57.2F) | 1,333mm (52.48in) | 2,399.5hrs 4. Yalta: 13.2C (55.8F) | 613mm (24.13in) | 2,163hrs 5. Galendzhik: 13.2C (55.8F) | 443.7mm (17.469in) | N.A 6. Krymsk: 13.2C (55.8F) | 994mm (39.16in) | N.A 7. Novorossiysk: 13.0C (55.4F) | 860.2mm (33.866in) | N.A 8. Derbent: 12.9C (55.2F) | 379.5mm (14.941in) | 1,894hrs 9. Makhachkala: 12.4C (54.3F) | 371mm (14.61in) | 1,990hrs 10. Anapa: 12.4C (54.3F) | 560mm (22.05in) | 2,355.9hrs 11. Feodosia: 12.3C (54.1F) | 499mm (19.65in) | 2,124hrs 12. Goryachy Klyuch: 12.2C (54F) | 904mm (35.6in) | N.A 13. Krasnodar: 12.1C (53.8F) | 735mm (28.94in) | 2,139hrs 14. Heiss Island: -12.4C (9.7F) | 259mm (10.2in) | 1,004hrs 15. Khatanga: −12.4C (9.7F) | 283mm (11.14in) | 1,604hrs 16. Tiksi: −12.8C (9F) | 321mm (12.64in) | 1,453.3hrs 17. Chokurdakh: −13.4C (7.9F) | 203mm (7.99in) | 1,636hrs 18. Verhoyansk: −14.5C (5.9F) | 180mm (7.09in) | 2,041hrs 19. Oymyakon: −15.5C (4.1F) | 215mm (8.46in) | 2,129hrs

Krasnodar would be the best for actual living...
Also, there's no way Derbent has gotten to 80F in the dead of winter.

Gelendzhik, it's the closest to my ideal climate. (Only downside would be the average summer lows being too warm)

Novirossiysk for having warm weather but with 800mm precipition (perfect) and only about 70 precipitation days. That's some pretty good rain/raindays

Are you talking about the climate, or the standard of living in the city? Krasnodar is the largest city of the bunch so is that what you are referring to?

This is a hard one. The warm climates are too boring for me and the cold climates are way too cold. I suppose I'll choose Verkhoyansk for it being closest to my preferences. Far, VERY far from an ideal climate though.

I went for Krymsk. Winter averages similar to mine so presumably still gets snow without being that cold, summers look relatively comfortable without going dry.

Toss up between Yalta and Galendzhik. There are warmer options but they have much more winter rain, and for me that's out.
And god damn Heiss Island has an awful climate. Four months of total darkness and then even the sunniest month only has like 30% sunshine.

It's name is also very ironic "This island (including the Komsomol Islands) was originally named after veteran Arctic explorer Isaac Hayes, who undertook a historical Polar expedition in 1850. The island's name in English should have been Hayes Island, but German cartographers Germanized its name after transliterating from the Russian and the corrupted name "Heiss" (meaning "hot" in German) has stuck." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heiss_Island

Maybe but winters still look much wetter to me. But if Novorossiysk had all its rain over 5 days or so I might prefer it 👍

Krasnodar by far. Warmer springs than places directly at the Black Sea or Caspian Sea coast and the drier colder winters are better too.

True, but Krasnodar's winters are pretty lame. Looks like they get a shit ton of 1 C rain there, and their summers while hot are still too dry and a bit too cool for me. Ah. This is a tough one to be honest. Lol, I still think Verhojansk is closer to my preferences.
