Here we have a selection of coastal climates at 49N on each coast of Eurasia, North America, and South America. Baie-Comeau, Quebec: Port Moody, BC: Poronaysk, Sakhalin: Caen, France: Puerto Eden, Chile: Puerto San Julian:

San Julian is the only acceptable one.
San Julian: C- Caen: D Baie-Comeau: E Poronaysk: E- Port Moody: F Puerto Eden: HELL
Puerto Eden may be the worst climate Iโve found so far. No rain days, so I canโt be sure but itโs certainly giving Campbell island a run for its money.

Yeah 49N on some coast somewhere on this planet won't have a great climate going by these representative locations. The difference between west and east coast South America is just mind-boggling though especially since it's not a large distance either. Puerto Eden looks like a fictional climate. Baie-Comeau looks the best to me though...

All of them are bullshit. Maybe Caen. Seems to be the best attempt at a summer, without some other immensely offensive feature like Port Moody's rainfall or Puerto San Julian's crummer lows.

Man, it's close between Caen and Puerto San Julian. I think I'll go for PSJ because of the sunshine.

Caen.
I was going for PSJ originally as I thought the mean temps were the average lows. The actual lows are shockingly poor.

I never thought there would come the day when I'd vote for Caen in a climate battle. But here it is, so my hat off to ๐๐ฟMรถrรถn๐๐ฟ

Caen just edges it over PSJ because that place is much too dry to be worth an extra 600 hours of sun. Wow at Puerto Eden!!!

There's something wrong with Coquitlam's weatherbox. No way has it ever hit -2.5C in July.

Caen for the milder winters and warmer summer lows. Puerto San Julian looks good too but I suspect it's super windy there which would create quite a windchill factor.

Baie-Comeau. I would choose Poronyansk if it weren't for the rediculous seasonal delay and cool summers. Boke.
Poronyansk is shockingly cold for a sea level location at 49 N. Could very easily be at 60+ N somewhere.
