Norway and Mid-Norway Feb 2018
Feb was not average. It was cold, dry and sunny for the part of Norway north of Dovre mts and north of Bergen. It was cold and snowy south of the Dovre mts.

Arctic:
Jan Mayen had the warmest Feb ever recorded with 24-hr mean 1.1°C and avg high 2.5°C - warmer than Bergen!
Bear Island set a new all-time high with 4.6°C.
With a 24-hr mean of -5.4°C and avg high -2.3°C, Longyearbyen was 10.8°C above normal, and just slightly colder than Drammen. Precip was 190 %. Several days with rain.
Some stations on Svalbard were as warm as Oslo.
Warmest station, 24-hr mean: 3.1°C at Svinøy (+0.4°C) and Ona.
Coldest mean: -17.7°C Kautokeino (307 m).
Abs high: 8.9°C Tafjord. Coldest since 2010.
Abs low: -42°C Folldal (694 m)
Precipitation was 65 % of normal.
Very dry in the far north.
Actually there were a High over Northern Scandinavia/Kola Peninsula the whole fucking month!! Driest station: 0 precipitaiton in Narvik (Skjomen). 0.4 mm Nordnesfjellet, and 0.6 mm Tysfjord (Drag) and Nordstraum. All in the far north and mostly west of the mountains.
Wettest: 248.4 mm (187 %) Flekkefjord.
29 stations had their driest Feb on record, among them Tromsø airport (1 mm), Bodø airport (2.5 mm) and Narvik (0 mm, Skjomen)
Tromsø had the sunniest Feb on record, 96.5 sun hrs. A mountain east of Tromsø recorded 141 sunhrs, which is more than Malta is seems.
4 stations recorded new all-time low for Feb, among them Tynset (482 m) with -38.7°C.
