As I live in the most forested country on this forum, I sure should post some forest pics, perkele! Earlier today...
You start here:
Not as claustrophobic as on Tuesday:
Stupid ice age rock:
More rock up there:
Felt immediately hotter with the rocks radiating heat. Tune: "Almost passed out feels like temp 3C hotter too hot for skinny jeans death ETA 10 minutes" etc etc:
Suddenly the forest was cleared and the indice sous-urbaine too is high in that direction !
This be more like it:
WTF is this plant?
And suddenly again back to suburbia:
And back in again:
Roles reversed, deciduous trees tall, conifers small:
Urban decay. Zone urbaine sensible indice 438905703 !
Funny willow. It has broken, but still alive and blooming:
Fallen trees all over the place!
Came to this glade and lost sight of the path completely FFS. No, it's a ditch there in the centre.
Have A Good Day!!
Didn't find the path here either:
But found instead this grass snake bro:
Fucken finally!
Undergrowth alive indice: 0 including lower branches of the spruces.
FFS, rotten planks. I swear to god that if I'd be a fatso I would've sunken in:
"Heritage Forest" whatever that means, but with the World Weather Forum logo on it:
And more casualties of winter storms probably:
np: Sepultura - Roots:
And these old-ass aspens are probably the ones to whom the roots belonged to:
Last glimpse of the forest before suddenly coming back to civilisation again. Knew I was on the right track when I was walking away from the sun :
Cul-de-Meadow:
Bus stop is over there towards gauche:
Temp was 21-22C, DP around 3C, time spent roughly 2.5 hours, wind 5-6 m/s but obviously more like 1 m/s in the forest, forest area covered more than exists on Maltese Guy's stupid rock jajajajajajaja bro. Pretty much perfect walking weather.

From the forest of Finland to the fjords of Norway: May 8th - May 9th along the longest and deepest ice-free fjord in the world, 205 km long and up to 1.303 m / 4275 ft deep - Sognefjord in the SW region of Norway, north of Bergen. Mountains rise to nearly 2,000 m along the innermost part of the fjord. The climate is strongly oceanic near the mouth of the fjord, with up to 3,000 m annual precipitation, while the innermost part is less oceanic and even slight continental with only 490 mm precipitation in one valley along the fjord. The treeline is only ca 400 at the mouth of the fjord, but at the innermost part is nearly 1200 m asl, also because of the higher mountains ("massehevingseffekten"). This is a little more than half the way to the innermost part of the fjord. The fjord is ca 3-4 km wide here. evening Day Saw many fruit plantations also This, however, is Trondheimsfjord near Værnes AP at 22:45 in the evening yesterday

One of the roads to our cabin is completely flooded. I've also been riding mini motorcycle all day and that road is by far the longest and best. The flooding continues up into the forest. Another flooded forest though ironically it looks exactly the same. Flooded mediterranean beach. Well, you can't see the actual beach because it's underneat the water but yeah... Notice the firepit in the bottom right. Subarctiquê indice: 34028 The kind of roads I was driving on. Cold subarctic rock jajajaja (wait has this joke been maded already?) Moose poo Fox(?) poo Big poo (I would've though it was horse but it's not on a road. Doesn't really look like bear though)

Sunset at 23.17 Frog couple Which reminds me. You remember that creek-that-became-part-of-the-lake-due-to-flooding? It got a happy frog couple too and a fuckton of eggs some of which are above water. (They're in the bottom right). I did film the frogs and eggs too but a video is too many pictures.

18C and partly cloudy and breezy. Drinking a nice German beer. Ahhh. And since I gotta compete with these Nordic people's, here's a shot from Vancouver of North Vancouver:

And since I gotta compete with these Nordic people's, here's a shot from Vancouver of North Vancouver: pretty, but not as dramatic as Norway; . 100 mils up the coast could get close? Surprised how snow-free the North Shore Mountains are, I remember them having more snow in late July. nice sky with clouds here in Strewthless 's photos. Nice castle or whatever it is.

As I live in the most forested country on this forum, I sure should post some forest pics, perkele! Earlier today... nice narrative; reminds me of some walks I did in conservation land by Amherst; managed not to get lost but used my phone for an aid. Dewpoint was in the high 60s instead. Had a small stream of similar size, too. One time I wanted to get out fast, found a trail so overgrown it was grasses taller than my knew. i found ticks. You have a different forest than me; deciduous trees look thinner maybe taller too on average.

It's a requirement for success here. Deciduous trees have to grow tall fast so that they don't get overshadowed by conifers. Only after reaching similar heights they start to grow girth.

In a few day we'll see the last nautical twilight until the 23rd of July. This was 00:00 today in our summerhouse.

Ariete and Nidaros posts on this page must be the two most liked comments on the site? Real turf war here, who will win?

Not from this year but I took these pics in the Tetons back in 2014. Beautiful place and weather that day: Beautiful peaks, maybe the most impressive non-volcanic ones in the western US? Very different summer weather patterns compared to Washington & southwest British Columbia mountains. I went to the Tetons in summer 2013, didn't bother mention I was traveling or where they were from when I posted them on CityData. One British poster thought they were in Massachusetts I've like to imagine what my old place would like it if instead of the Holyoke/Mt. Tom Range (1000 foot range to the south of Amherst -Northampton) there were the Tetons. Replace this with the Tetons!

nei that town would have quite a dramatic backdrop. Besides a few mountains in Colorado and Montana, they're the best non-volcanic peaks in the lower 48.

We went to our summerhouse for a couple of days (two nights) and during that time it was 20-22'C every day, not a single cloud, and vegetation exploded. Last week the landscape was covered by half a meter of snow there. Now it's covered by supple greenery. A road with a view. Snow next to green trees on a 22'C day. First we saw a female woodgrouse. Then a kilometer further we saw the a male. Tavelsjö is looking quite summery, and feeling quite summery after 22'C temps. Last year it didn't look like this until like the 25th.

A few iphone images by me today. Lade in Trondheim with the Trondheimsfjord. Temp was pleasant, high today at Lade: 20.9C, Værnes AP 19.7C. 13 sunhrs. There is a nice path along the fjord, for walking, running or biking. Sometimes the path is right next to the fjord, and sometimes climb a hill or two, with nice views over the fjord. This old little harbour was build during WW2, not used now, only for recreation Went for a run. Stopped at one of the hills and took this photo Then came down to more level ground, stopped and took a few more photos More uphill Then down to the fjord again Nice run
