¡Bienvenidos a la batalla climática hispanohablante! This will pit some of the largest Spanish-speaking metro areas in the world against each other.
CDMX, the largest hispanophone city, old Aztec capital, and a subtropical monsoonal climate tempered by altitude.
Lima, the coastal desert metropolis and 2nd largest desert city in the world, second only to Cairo, located in the rare mild desert climate.
Bogotá, capital of the Andes and city of eternal spring situated in an equatorial climate modified by altitude.
Madrid, the seat of the Spanish throne and the 2nd largest city in the EU, with a borderline Mediterranean/semiarid climate.
Miami, widely considered to be the "capital of Latin America", has a classic tropical wet/dry climate.
Buenos Aires, the southernmost city in the battle and one of the most diverse cities in the Americas, with a classic subtropical climate.
Barcelona, the most visited Spanish city and art, fashion, and football/soccer capital, with a Mediterranean climate.
Guayaquil, known as the Pearl of the Pacific, is the largest city in Ecuador and has a hot tropical wet/dry climate.
Santiago, the Chilean capital, with a mild semiarid climate and easy access to good skiing.
Santo Domingo, the best baseball city in the world and the first European city in the Americas, has a tropical climate. |

Of this bunch, probably Madrid since it has the best chance at getting some cold.
My ideal Spanish speaking climate would be Bariloche because of all the snow in winter and comfortable summers.

Santiago for me - a superb example of a citrus/ski zone climate.
Barcelona in second place = also an example of this much desired climate.

Really much of Chile is citrus/ski zone -- the Andes run up the eastern border of the thin nation. As I described, good skiing is close to basically anywhere in the country. Bogotá and CDMX could also be citrus/ski climates but obviously no real seasons there. |

It's a toss-up between Buenos Aires and Barcelona. The former has better rainfall, the latter better winters.
It seems like the whole spanish speaking world has a shit climate. The only acceptable climate I can find is Girona, and they speak Catalan anyway.

Some excellent climates among this lot.
A toss up between Miami, Guayaquil and Santo Domingo.
The wet/dry of Guayaquil would remind me of home, Miami is great except for the once in a lifetime freezes, and Santo Domingo likely stays green all year around, so Santo Domingo gets the tick.

It's a toss-up between Buenos Aires and Barcelona. The former has better rainfall, the latter better winters. It seems like the whole spanish speaking world has a shit climate. The only acceptable climate I can find is Girona, and they speak Catalan anyway. Parts of Southern Chile and Northern Spain could suit your preferences well. Montesquiu you'd like but it's deep in Catalonia so the majority of people likely use Catalan as their mother tongue (as is the case in most of rural Catalonia), so it doesn't count. Northern Spain in higher elevations does have some climates that are Köppen continental though iirc. Spots like Teruel and Segovia are close, but there's probably others.

Montesquiu looks good, even better than Girona but Teruel and Segovia are too dry and Chile in general has the wrong precipitation pattern and is too oceanic. Tandil, Argentina seems decent too. |
