I would kill to see such a good-looking lawns in summer nowadays. First blue skies since forever this afternoon, after 8 days of warm, gloomy crap. Cold front just passed by and tommorow will be extremely cold @ 2°C!!1!1!11!111!!!! Is that in Seoul? Imo there's enough snow for the cold not to be completely pointless (if you don't like cold).

I would kill to see such a good-looking lawns in summer nowadays. That’s exactly how winter should look mostly cloudy, mostly bare trees, and emerald green wet grass

A very successful trip to Jonathan Dickinson State Park. I saw five new plant species that I never seen before. Temps in the upper 70s to low 80s F. Idyllic winter scene: straw-colored wiregrass under the pines Small creek with aquatic plants Bearded grasspink (Calopogon barbatus) Rose rush (Lygodesmia aphylla) Pale grasspink (Calopogon pallidus) Cypress swamp "Hobe Mountain", highest point in Martin County (86 ft/26 m) and higher than all points on the Atlantic Coast Ridge south of here This basin looks like a good candidate for a frost hollow, closed off on three sides and with well-drained sandy soil. Its distance less than a mile from the ocean may cancel all of that out, though. View from the highest point, looking east Looking northwest Southeast view, with high-rises of Palm Beach County visible in the distance Boardwalk over scrub

Out of all the many snowy places I've lived, I've never seen flakes like the ones here... From Dec 28th. Shit was lighter than pillow fluff. This morning

Also love the scrubland vegetation in those sandy soils. Gives off a nice semi-arid look, especially for a place that gets 60" of rain annually. More evaporation due to the sandy soils I guess.

Surface water drains much faster in sand.

Spent a few day in the Jura highlands in eastern France. No snow whatsoever this disgrace of a winter. Large waterfall on what is technically the longest "river" in France, if it actually was a river (kinda like Missouri + Mississippi in the US): Loads of mossy trees

Currently staying on the Coromandel Peninsula east of Auckland. The weather has turned now with a subtropical low moving over the upper North Island, but the last fortnight of the holidays has been beautiful weather and highs in the upper 20s. Looking across the Tairua Harbour to the Pacific Ocean.

I took advantage of the warmer weather last Thursday, by hiking in Patsy Pond Nature Trail, part of the Croatan Nat'l Forest. Temp was in the mid-60s with SSW'lies as a seabreeze was blowing through.
