Canberra is a very good climate, it’s like a drier more continental version of where I live.

Darwin I guess but really none of them. “Quintessential Aussie climate and location” I think of something like Alice Springs or somewhere else in the outback

Perth for the sunshine hours. But I've been having a "crush" on Brisbane lately. 😏 EDIT: Oh lol, just realised that this wasn't a climate battle thread. Yeah, Brisbane is the emblematic Aussie climate with hot humid summers and dry mild winters. Perth is Med and it's more quintessential for, well, the Med sea. Sydney is close to tho.

Darwin is the most quintessentially Aussie of these. One of the main stereotypes about AU is that all the wildlife there is dangerous. From what greysrigging has shared, Darwin definitely has these creatures. It’s also seen as a hot climate, Darwin has no shortage of heat. Somewhere up north but semiarid would probably be the most quintessential Aussie climate.

Longreach and Charleville in Central Queensland are 'quintessential' Aussie...textbook land of 'droughts and flooding rains'....

From an Australian perspective I picked Brisbane. I can understand Darwin being picked though

Brisbane is the closest to the quintessential Australian climate for me. I stereotype the country as being predominantly warm and sunny, but not particularly tropical. imo Brissie is a pretty good fit.

Given the parameters of this battle, I would say Brisvegas as well..... even thoughI live in Darwin, our climate is rather unique compared to the rest of AU... Brissy is a good compromise between the deep north and the colder south...

For "most quintessential" I'd probably pick Brisbane out of the choices listed (which is also my favorite, for what it's worth), but I'd say the most quintessential Australian climate would be along the lines of Port Hedland or Karratha for being hotter and drier.

Adelaide is the one that looks most "generic Australian city climate" to me.

I guess Brisbane out of the capital cities: not too wet in the summer, but still warm and sunny.
