La Laguna = A+ Ürümqi = D I assume it'll be a lot closer than that overall though

Easy, can't stand fatal winters.

Understandable to a point, though that intensity of winter is far beyond anything I can enjoy on any level. So given the choice it has to be Tenerife although it is too boring for me as a climate in general.

Ürümqi is a pretty decent climate for being on the dry side.
La Laguna is shit.

So given the choice it has to be Tenerife although it is too boring for me as a climate in general. The summers of Ürümqi are far suprerior to that of Laguna's, too. Less humid, broader diurnals, more proper heat etc. For me, Ürümqi holds every advantage possible—by both maritime and inland standards.

It's a better summer but not at the price of that winter. I would get no enjoyment out of it and it's too long. Not averse to some wintry weather though.

Ürümqi hasn't got much in terms of diurnals in summer though, in particular considering how far inland it is. One literally can't get farther inland on Earth and still it offers up a 12°C diurnal, whereas La Laguna manages 9°C on an extra-tropical island...
So in that regard, in summer La Laguna has much more impressive diurnals in relative terms.

Ürümqi.
Nice four season climate, although winters are far too dry IMO.

La Laguna, finding a pleasant summer is a primary stuff before judge other seasons.

Tough decision but I choose Ürümqi assuming it gets some thunderstorms in May and June.

La laguna, since urumqi is just too boring frankly with those dried out winters....

Winter can be a nice seasonal time without being fatal inducing turd though. When it comes to me, fun>>>>>>>comfort. Any day! So you'd rather have tornadoes swirling around with a mean max high of 40C and a mean min low of 0C and snowfall, as opposed to 25C/10C and sunshine everyday.

Ürümqi is horrible. The only Chinese capital climates that are worse are Harbin, Lhasa, maybe Xining, and maybe Jilin.
Tenerife: B- Ürümqi: D-
