C+ for me; I've seen way worse four-season climates than this one, even though neither summer nor winter is really good enough, shoulder seasons should be very good and the absence of rain suits me okay, since at least it's close to 400 mm. Something tells me Steelernation is a fan of this climate

B+, by inland standards. Epic summers and winters, but summer thunderstorms are lacking.

I'm pretty familiar with it. They get some interesting weather but the summers are hell. Lows around 25C aren't uncommon...with highs around 42C.

B.
Spring and summer are nice but fall and winter are too warm/dry for my liking. Last winter was pretty nice though; coldest since 1978-79.

B. Temperatures are excellent but it could use more snow, more storms and drier winters. For Oregon, I like Pendleton better.

B, very nice. could be a bit warmer and wetter but it's on the right track definitely.

I was a bit surprised by that; do you want precipitation in spring/summer instead? Spring should be the wettest time of year, summer should get 4-5 thunderstorms a month and winter should get almost all precipitation as snow. Pendleton’s an improvement in all those ways with drier winters, slightly wetter summers, and more snow.

After The Dalles, you can either pay the toll to you and your wagon over the rough Barlow Toll Road or raft over the rapids of the Columbia River Gorge Prevailing wind flow through the Columbia River Gorge is from the west, you and the river current is going east and its hemmed in by mountains at times. Mt. Hood behind The Dalles:

Fast early spring warm-up, a bit like northern Italy. Unlike Oregon on the west side of the Cascades, it doesn't stall in mid-spring. Spring records are kinda cold, even with mild averages; must be a lot of cold blasts from the interior? It's at sea level. Mostly ok temperatures, but has cold too often and too dry. A drier, warmer version of Nelson, BC?

Solid D. Excellent summers but winters leave much to be desired.

Dry, probably too sunny, and summers look toasty. Certainly could be worse though.

Let down by those cold winters.
