Anchorage has a Dwc climate! It's a D+ for me. Winters are exceptionally long for its location and summers are pretty cold and rainy...and cloudy in my experience. There's fuckall thunderstorms unfortunately but that's to be expected. I heard one small rumble of thunder once, and that was in August 2010. Snowfall for January and December here are really strange. Both have 3 precipitation days but January supposedly received 1.2" while December received 16". It's entirely possible, it just looks weird. raw data: J 1971 10.1/-4.7 0.24 1.2 41 -34 3 F 1990 12.5/-5.0 1.46 23.0 43 -23 10 M 1959 25.0/3.0 0.85 26.1 45 -15 5 A 1972 33.9/19.7 0.73 12.6 42 3 6 M 1964 50.0/32.3 0.97 0.4 75 17 8 J 1971 58.3/44.0 0.37 73 37 10 J 1971 61.8/49.0 2.86 75 40 15 A 1998 59.8/47.7 3.17 72 34 15 S 1992 47.4/33.2 2.83 3.0 62 19 9 O 1996 32.5/18.2 2.63 28.1 50 1 7 N 1955 17.0/1.7 0.59 11.8 32 -16 7 D 1980 7.9/-6.3 0.41 16.0 43 -23 3

B, by maritime standards. Cold and snowy winters, but summers are much too warm and precipitation is too low.

C+ at best...just too cold and gloomy, even for me. I guess maybe that summer would be the coldest on record in Sky Valley (my dream climate).
And what's with the snowlessness in January and May? That doesn't even look meteorologically possible with the temperatures and precipitation involved.

It usually just comes for a day or two.

October through April looks epic, but the rest of the year is way too cool. Snowfall is nice, but not enough rain in summer. I'll give it a C.
