Historically, Mackay has had three BoM reporting sites. The original site ( 1889-1950 ) was at at the Post Office in the CBD. Begrudgingly Honolulu. Now Mackay's winters are pleasant and nice, which offer relief from the humidity that sticks around the remainder of the year, but it's prone to cyclones and very wet weather in the summer. I can't bear floods and excessive rain.
Honolulu is at least mildly rainy throughout the year, despite the relentless warm weather.
