Found Putao by accident, so I tried to look up a climate with similar temperatures with a reversed precipitation pattern. That area of the Mediterranean is the closest I could find. Other similar climates are Antalya and Latakia. Latakia has cooler summer highs similar to Putao but it's not as wet as Alanya. Despite the very high rainfall, I prefer Putao because summer in Alanya is hot and humid with very little rainfall and high sunshine and that sucks major donkey balls.

Csa climates will always be better than Cwa climates.

Alanya by far. More seasonal variation, drier, more sun, etc.

Alanya. There's a reason people spend their holiday there instead of Burma. Summer is supposed to be sunny, not wet.

Not a fan of either really due to extreme summers both in terms of daily means (Alanya) and rain (Putao).
Will have to go for Alanya since monsoons like those in Putao must be dangerous. No way that place escapes serious flooding.

I think I'll take Putao due to the epic summer rainfall, which makes it interesting in my estimation. How much of that rain is thunderstorms? Hopefully the majority of it.

That place seems heavily forested and is also mountainous. I think I'll take Putao due to the epic summer rainfall, which makes it interesting in my estimation. How much of that rain is thunderstorms? Hopefully the majority of it. I'd also guess thunderstorms are super common during the summer.

Putao!Much more exciting, with plenty thunderstorms that save its pitiful temperatures. Also, is Alanya supposed to be at 36.5ยฐ N?! Fuck me dead, that's a gay climate. The Mediterranean region and maritime Europe are a fucken disgrace to their respective latitude parallels

Alanya has the far superior rainfall and sunshine pattern.

Alanya. The Burmese one's rainfall is just absurd.

Alanya. Don't like the Mediterranean precipitation pattern and the summers are too hot for me (especially considering the amount of dryness and sunshine), but at least there's a longer period of cooler weather/more seasonality and way more precipitation than Putao.

Alanya in a landslide. It's a slightly warmer version of my dream climate, nearly perfect!

Alanya. Putao's monsoon is too extreme, even for me.
