With the stock car race there today I thought why not highlight one of the more interesting Mid-Atlantic climates. Quite moderated summers, while winters retain Kentucky/d-esque diurnals, in spite of being very near the coast. C for me; summers are a lot more useful than inland and winter highs are at least above the 0-5Β°C deadzone in terms of highs and has a pretty nice sun angle too.

Donβt see what makes it so special...

C+. Meh. Donβt see what makes it so special... Compared to DC and Philly it seems like a proper middle ground and offers both proper subtropical summers and continental winters near the ocean, could definitely do with some more maritime moderation though.

C. "Meh" in every sense of the word. Summer is actually the best season, though could use more precip.

DC and Philly are so similar that a "middle ground" is not really needed. Just a run of the mill mid-Atlantic climate.

Had to edit that link since it malfunctioned Ariete but it's there now Wilmington looks quite interesting indeed. Warm-summer New England perhaps? Will keep that in mind for the future. Maybe you should start one?

Guess I'll join the crowd and vote C.
Good summers (could be wetter) but winter is pretty lackluster.

B- Which is higher than what I'd rate a climate like this before. Think I can tolerate summer heat more.

A generous B-. Summers are too hot and humid, but winters are decently chilly and precipitation is good. I've actually been to Dover raceway. Great track!

I'm surprised it only averages 5 snowy days. Philadelphia has 12.2 per Wikipedia. C-. 22 in of snow average in Philadelphia v. 15 for Dover (38 vs. 56 cm.) With practically identical summers, it's a considerable step down from Philadelphia.

D: Suicidally stable and washed-out summers, and pitifully low snowfall relative to how cold the averages are.

C+. Meh. Donβt see what makes it so special... This. It's inoffensive, better than a lot of American climates, but nothing is really that special about it.

Summers could be cooler and winters snowier.
