Well... You judge. Northwest Territories or California. Morro Bay has shocking summers, but world-class winters still mean an easy win against the subarctic monster of Fort Simpson.

Hahahah easy one. Morro bay. Fort Simpson is a joke with deathly winters followed by cool wet summers. At least summer is dry in Morro Bay and go on all autumn. Plus, no discernible winter to speak of.

Shocking summers? The warmest month has the same highs as Nyköping for 81-10.

Shocking summers? The warmest month has the same highs as Nyköping for 81-10. Nyköping maded no weather station and even if it did it would've been mid-22 something. Also Morro Bay's warmest highs occur in October, that's just bonkers seasonal lag.

Morro Bay. Fort Simpson’s winters are just too long. Anyway both suck ass.

Morro Bay is almost directly west of Death Valley, 230 miles west. Summers aren’t shocking for any place facing the Pacific + low mountains on the other side. Bay probably helps, too. Unusually mild for the latitude, of course.
Also has unusual extremes:
December has the coldest extreme max, then June is #2

Morro Bay is the better climate, every month is comfortable weather. But it's so boring... I wonder what month feels the most like summer, is it October with the highest temperatures, or is it July with cooler temperatures but higher sun angle and no rain?
Fort Simpson is too continental. Winters aren't insane, but they're too cold and I don't like that record low of -56 either.

Fort Simpson isn't that bad for being in the north west territories. The summers are quite warm, the winters aren't that extreme compared to Siberia and it's not that far from being not subarctic. Also the record highs in winter are impressive.
Morro Bay is strange. Why is may colder than April? And the warmest month is October while the coldest is only 2 months later. Anyway I would obviously choose California over NWT any day.

All of coastal California has an odd loooking warmest in October, coldest in December. Must have something to do with how much interior vs ocean airflow
