Lommaren wanted me to post my dream climate, and lots of people haven't seen it, I've finally gotten around to posting it. It's named after me of course. Digging through deleted threads on CityData, I found another made up climate named after me: Neihole. Seemed like a perfect climate battle with the names. First, my dream climate, Neipolis
Pleasantly mild winter climate with moderately hot but not oppressively hot summers. Nearly frost-free. Summers are drier than winter, with most rain from convective downpours in scattered thunderstorms, leading to high summer rainfall variability. Rest of the year has mostly frontal rain. Sunshine is low in the winter, around 40% but skies change rapidly so nearly all days will see some sun. Weather changes quickly in winter, from clear to bright overcast to rain back to bright overcast as rain systems pass through. Fast enough you can watch the billowing clouds build up and break up. Neipolis is near the sea but not on it; at the start of a steep mountain valley. A small isolated tall hill lies in between both sides of the valley. At its summit, lies a very old fort, where the oldest part of the city is centerd around. The central half or so is dense but not super dense similiar to a northern European large city in built form but with a decent-sized skyline as it has few height restrictions. Suburbs are leafier, extending outward in corridors with undeveloped land in between. I could make a map and add more description, but I'll save it for a non-weather thread. Perhaps we could have a thread on geography of our dream city, too? Now Neihole:
The creator of NeiHole neglected to provide many details. It's apparently a gay resort, but the sunshine is very low and un-resort like. And with the ample rainfall, shouln't all the sperm be washed away? From the description, it's an arctic climate as the summer mean just misses the 10Β°C limit. Perhaps ideal for sun and heat haters. Locals must have great cold and rain tolerance to have outdoor orgies.
