CONCACAF world cup qualifying (final stage) starts tonight. Big home match for Canada, taking on Honduras. Historically, we haven't had the best luck against them but the team is much improved now.

Sweden apparently beat Spain yesterday with 2-1, ending Spain's 66 no-loss streak in a world cup qualifier. Not a single lost WC qualifier game in 28 years. And we had 8 veteran players quit the team after the Euro cup, so we had a completely new team as well.  |

The national team went to visit Sanna and the Minister of Science, Sports and Culture Antti Kurvinen (the goofy-looking lad with the jersey) yesterday. I heard the consensus was that the Welsh players are all plonkers.

Possibly. As you can see on the stairs left of the upper porch; Nicholas Hämäläinen and Marcus Forss do not look happy at all being outside. Meanwhile the old bald dude on the extreme left on the porch, physio Gene Keurulainen, looks very happy that he's for once let outside from his massaging table in the basement.

Disappointing result for Canada last night with a 1-1 home draw against Honduras. Fortunately most other teams in the octagonal drew as well. Next up is away vs the US in a couple days.

Ukraine - France 1-1
Ukraine has played 5 games and has 5 draws, must be pretty rare. Finland and France are the only countries who have managed to win a game in this group.
