Figured this would be an OK battle, a climate that's really hot year-round vs. a climate with bitterly cold winters and pleasant summers. For me, I obviously choose Fairbanks but the choice may not be so obvious for others. Btw, too big to fit in the screenshot but Maracaibo averages 2,611 sunshine hours, while Fairbanks averages 2,105 sunshine hours (US method; maybe more like 1900 hours).

Fairbanks. Maracaibo isnโt bad as far equatorial climates go but itโs just too hot and boring.

I'd much rather do 33ยฐC every day rather than -40ยฐC every winter with sad crummers.

Maracaibo easily. Fairbanks is a straight F. Maracaibo is a solid B climate

Both are crap. I'm leaning towards Fairbanks but I would have to experience such a winter first.

Both are atrocious, but Maracaibo is slightly less horrible

Maracaibo by far. Don't forget, the Catatumbo lightning is not far away...

Both climates suck but I guess Maracaibo is slightly better.

Fairbanks. Fairbanks is far more interesting to me, while Maracaibo would be tedious.

If Maracaibo wasnโt humid during the daytime Iโd choose it over Fairbanks.
Unfortunately, looking at forecasts for there, it seems to be humid during the day. Thus, Fairbanks narrowly wins.

Fairbanks for interest, but Maracaibo all the way in terms of preferability. Not even a question for me; Fairbanks is literally subarctic with an average annual temperature below freezing while Maracaibo is a veritable tropical paradise - though still a bit hot for me year-round.

Maracaibo easily. It gets an A, while Fairbanks is a solid F.
