Easy choice for me. Castlegar has warmer summers and colder winters with good snow totals. Kiandra is not warm enough in summer and too wet overall.

Clean cut choice. Castlegar, they get a summer.

I would've gone for Castlegar due to its far superior Summer temperatures, but unfortunately its penguin 49ยฐ N latitude is extremely inferior to that Kiandra's lovely 36ยฐ S...I hate excessive Summer twilight.
Also, Kiandra is much wetter and much squallier, with plenty of storms.
Verdict: Kiandra, NSW

Kiandra for the stronger summer sun, even though it's cooler. Also it's far sunnier.

Castlegar!
Great four season climate (and overall place too).

Castlegar easily, the winters are similar but Castlegar actually has warm summers, and they're drier as well

Kiandra. Worse temps but better sunshine and more intense rainfall

I never thought I'd vote for a Canadian climate over an Aussie one, but here I am. Castlegar it is, because Kiandra's "summers" are unforgivably bad.
