A climate battle born of Lommo's 6.5-8.5'C mean thread, with an assortment of "good" climates in that range. Portland Kelowna Kiev Flagstaff Briançon My personal favorite is Briançon. Least favorite is Portland.

Portland just edges Kiev and Flagstaff due to less single-digit weather and a more reliable snow cover (Flagstaff could easily turn into slush). Kelowna lacks permanent snow cover, whereas Briançon is rather boring.

I choose Flagstaff. Far from perfect, but the daytime highs and the sunshine hours + the beautiful scenery make it stand out.

Flagstaff seems best for my preferences. Out of a bad selection, that is.

Portland. Almost identical to my climate, albeit slightly snowier due to noreasters. My climate provides more snowy days by far though.

Madison, WI has an average annual mean of 8.0 from 1981-2010... I like it better than any of these. All of these are good in summer. Portland wins, but it's too wet overall. Kiev second. It might have issues keeping snow around though Portland does too. Flagstaff third. Too mild during the day in winter, too sunny. Kelowna fourth. Too dry and winter is cloudy. Briancon fifth, winter has bad temperatures. Cottonwood, South Dakota would place between Flagstaff and Kewlowna. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cottonwood,_South_Dakota#Climate As for the worst. Campbell Island, New Zealand is a contender but the mean is only 7C.

Flagstaff! Cold nights year-round but tons of snow, abundant sunshine and mostly decent afternoon temps make up for it.

Portland, despite being overly snowy in the winter. Good temperatures, good sunshine, and good precipitation days.
Flagstaff and Briancon have too high diurnal ranges for my liking and winter temperatures that straddle the freezing line too much, and Kelowna and Kiev are way too gloomy in the winter for my liking.

Flagstaff.
It's not that good, but the abundant sunshine hours will definitely compensate things.

Kiev for being the warmest in April-June and having a nice precipitation pattern. Kelowna would be my second choice.
