A solid december with above avg temps, despite a polar attack around mid month. That polar attack was due to this gay ass low hanging around NW Vic, which gave us gay tasmanian stratocrapulus weather while giving Shitney/Cunter Valley/NSW/Victoria days of humidity, heat and storms Had 4 thunder days, which is an incredible destruction of the status quo. Best were the mornings of the 30th and 31st, with a solid lightning show around 2-4am both times while drinking, plus some bonus lightning later on in the morning both days while hungover. The action on the 31st was completely unforecasted, mind you! Should've bought a lottery ticket Finally got a reminder of why inland CG barrages are the best there is - first time I saw real night time CG action in 2 years. Unreal. First month of summer gets a solid tick. Data: Dec: High: +2.1C Low +2.5C Rain: +11.1mm Year: High: +0.9C Low: +0.3C Rain: -91.7mm Daily obs

Umeå. I've estimated the precipitation for Oct-Dec. Absolutely epic year. That March (though I spent March in Thailand so I didn't notice ) were atrocious. February could've been better though. At least it was decently sunny.

December 2018 in Võru was 0.7c above average, a bit drier than usually but very very cloudy. I have not made any wikipedia styled weather box in 2018, i will do it soon and also I need revisit the information collected by the weather service.

Here's some other ones Stockholm for example. A common theme throughout these is how horrible a blemish March is on an otherwise flawless year. Very dry year for Stockholm. In fact, since 1901, the record was 357mm Norrköping Everybody's favorite Nordic climate: Lund. Not far away from having 7 months above 10'C, and 5 "proper" summer months above 15'C means. Karlshamn using nearby Karlskrona's sunshine. Dry here too. Old record since 1901 was 411mm.

Worth mentioning is the national annual temperature record using the SMHI mean calculation was set in 2014 at 10.4'C in Falsterbo, and this year it was 10.2'C. The average high/low in 2014 was 12.8/8.4 (translates into a 10.6'C mean). This year it was 13.0/8.0 for a 12.5'C mean. Close but no cigar.
Also worth mentioning is the Swedish and Nordic annual sunshine record of 2343h has been raised to 2407h by Svenska Högarna. Apparently Roomassaare in Estonia recorded 2440h in 2011 though, so you don't have to go very far south to have that record beat. I wonder how much further south you have to go to beat Estonia's record, and whether it would be in the west, center, or east of Europe.

Very warm year (1.9 °C warmer than 1981-2010), also very dry & sunny growing period. Apparently Frankfurt broke the old national warmest year with a 12.9'C mean. I'm guessing there's a UHI station that you're not using?

Apparently Frankfurt broke the old national warmest year with a 12.9'C mean. I'm guessing there's a UHI station that you're not using? Yes, that's Frankfurt Westend, which is located in an inner city park. Frankfurt Airport barely has any UHI effect. Frankfurt-Westend broke Freiburg's old national record from 2000, which was also a UHI station until it got replaced in 2006.
