Pleasant Cfa (subtropical) climate.

C–; summers FAR too stable, and much too cloudy year-round, but winters and snowfall are epic!

F- for the climate, A+ for the idea.

Never mind.. didn't realise September averaged below 10c... may could still be bit chillier I think... I would also like to see more -60F... which would emphasize the subtropical ambiance...
What about subpolar subtropical climates? Less than 4 months above 10c, but more than 1 month above 22c and no months below -3c...

F, just as bad as Koppen's threshold for subtropical climates.

F, just as bad as Koppen's threshold for subtropical climates. Køppen was a drünk (ahem) and obviously wasn't endowed with the forethought that there might be two climates that shouldn't be classified the same (NYC and Brisbane iirc, for example).

A+; reminds me of subtropical climates like Savannah and Stockholm.

Oooh beautiful climate, finally someone saw the cold epoch ! Looks exactly like raleigh. Many palms, many many gators ! Tom77 would be proud! Sabal palmettos grow here!
bees are buzzin , birds are chirping, creeks are flowin, and it is well above average -30 ! Subtropique index broke!

What a subtropical paradise.

C- for the climate...even the sari has limits. Wayyyy too much winter. May and June look nice though - not as averages, but as May and June in a theoretical year in Sky Valley.
However, A+ for cleverness. Köppen's weaknesses are fun to mess with.

My favorite subtropical climates are Beijing, Ushant, and Budapest, personally... Ushant and Budapest are oceanic (Cfb) according to Koppen. And are you fine with Beijing's hot summers? My remark was in jest! Ushant is subtropical by Trewartha (it has 8 or more months above 10C) ... look at Budapest's more recent normals... it became a Cfa from 1980-2010 .... Beijing is also >-3.0C for the coldest month per the 1980-2010 normals... so it meets Koppen's criteria for a Cwa [could it be too arid?].... Just choosing 3 climates that very few people would view as "subtropical"- Ouessant is a cool oceanic climate, Beijing is a climate with harsh, continental winters, and Budapest has too cool summers and too chilly winters... fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%C3%A9kin#Climaten.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ushant#Climatewww.logboekweer.nl/International/Hungary/BUDAPEST_Temp.pdfQuite arguably, Beijing's hot, rainy, and humid summers (closer to the South than to say, Minnesota), Ushant's mild winters (higher record low than Miami!) and Budapest's moderation all have some subtropical traits that are entirely lacking in the climate posted above! I would actually give Ushant a B/B- (comfortable, but too little temperature variation between seasons), Budapest a B- (too dry and too continental, but not extremely so) and Beijing a C (decent autumn (I don't like the spring dust storms) and winter sunshine, but too dry overall and too wet and hot summers)... If I had to choose a real Cfa, Lyon isn't terrible... It's a bit too continental for me, but not excessively so.... solid B/B+... only July and August look a bit poor.. Turin is also quite good, but could have gotten hotter recently in the 1980-2010 normals...

Great idea for a thread. Temperatures aren't terrible, spring and fall are too cold but it has a summer. But the rain and snow totals are way too high. And too cloudy. D.

F
Polar arctic polar subarctic climate. Subarctic. See, this is what happens when a Russian drinks 3 bottles of Vodka a day, then decides to create a climate classification system.

E. Temperatures are actually not bad despite being a bit cool in the warmer half of the year, but the sun hours and precipitation absolutely destroy any redemption for this climate.
