This is from a shoutbox coversation Cadeau , alex992 , @qidb602 , and I were having. We were discussing people's associations with different climate zones. For instance Cfb could be associated with mild-mannered, prosperous, culturally liberal, Euro-based, mariner, gloomy, bland people and cuisine, wood/brick architecture, "chilly" temperaments, lushness ... On the other hand, Csa could indicate hot/attractive people, "warmth," Latin life, hedonism, hot-headedness, profligacy, quality cuisine, vacationing, the red carpet, classic architecture... What would your associations of climate zones be? |

At least in my case, my diet is anything but bland. Hate bland cuisine. Thankfully we have every type of cuisine available in the UK, more than can be said for other European countries I've visited. Few houses are made of brick or wood where I live - chiefly limestone, locally quarried in the peak district. Anyway my associations: A climates (tropical): barbarians, lazy, stupid, generally unintelligent and uncivilised, undeveloped people and nations. Shit diets including weird crap like insects, basically anything that moves. See insects in the kitchen, just eat them. B climates, deserts: Disagreeable and aggressive people, nothing to do but drink constantly. Cfa subtropical: Emotionally unstable, lazy, overly aggressive people very common here, also seems to be home to a lot of moronic philistines who think of more cultural developed places are "boring", due to, ironically their own lack of intellect. Houses are wooden boxy shitholes often found to be not even attached to the ground, or have wheels. Csa mediterranean: Lazy rude blighters, sleep all afternoon because of the oppressive dry sunny hot summers, get nothing done, countries always in some economic depression of some sort. Generally supported by tourism. Cfb oceanic: Courteous and respectful people, lots of sports lovers because of the comfortable year round climate, generally the highest levels of culture, civilisation and excellent architecture, wholesome, filling and delicious cuisine. Df whatever continental: People here have to be able to deal with extremes of weather so generally adaptable, hard working, and tend to be more emotionally mature people, from what I've seen. E climates: Well, penguins seem to be a fairly affable bunch. |
