Those fresh leaves are such a nice sight. More than two months to go here. Right now it's forecast to get down to 27F Monday and Tuesday night, so not sure how the new foliage will handle it. I'd prefer not to have any foliage until later in March with deciduous trees bare throughout winter.

Just a quick picture taken on my way back home. This is a street in central Turin, so that it is completely straight you can see the Alps on the west in the background. This street is actually called "Corso Stati Uniti" = "United States Street" (we often name our roads after nations). Anyway, today it was interesting to notice that the sky was completely clear, apart from some clouds concentrated around the mountain tops. Looking at the radar picture of the region, it looks like the Alps are somehow blocking the precipitation approaching from W-NW

Daffodils started coming up here after a warm spell in early February, but since then they haven't progressed at all. They now look much more stunted than those especially with the two hard freezes in a row here.

Ugh. 20-30cm of new snow and next week is forecast 20-30cm more. At least it looks pretty decent out today. So much snow... It won't melt within March this year. Burough where I live now is just a bunch of old falu red houses. I hate snow.

Generally windy and warm-ish in here. During the week the snowline moved down to 1000 m of altitude (I didn't managed to take any picture because it lasted a couple of hours in Thursday morning and I was already late for catching my train), but it returned above 2000 m quite quickly. Lots of clouds quickly moving above us also. ^ those are the mountains delimiting the borderline between Italy and France, just west of my place. ^ this is a relatively less high mountain (the part visible in this picture doesn't reach 3000 m, but there is a taller peak just behind it) and well exposed to the sun. Barely any snow left over there. ^ the usual picture of the mountain in front of my window. It reaches 3500 m of altitude, but this side is well exposed to sunlight and so there is very little snow also up in there :/ ^ these are the mountains on the opposite side instead, on the less sun exposed side. Those mountains are not that tall (let's say max 2500 m), but that side doesn't receive much sunlight in this period of the year, so the snow tends to last for much longer over there.

New leaves look wilted following last week's cold snap with temps dropping to 25F. Warm and humid this afternoon. Up to 77F at 3PM with dewpoint of 66F.

Fucking piss weather. Windy and -3'C. Feels really cold on your face. Ugly ass overcast as well. A lot of fallen trees where I live. Don't know when they fell. We've had some windy days this year, but I also think this forest never gets cleared anyway. Almost frozen creek Same creek but frozen this time This general area is extremely beautiful in the summer with all the deciduous forests and green fields. But now it's just grey and overcast and snowy And because of the harsh winds lately there isn't even any snow on the trees. See what the wind has done to the road. Found an American looking house. Doesn't look Swedish at all.

Walking around Brooklyn last weekend. Saturday's high around 50°F/10°C lions adorn one of the fancy looking homes nice decor almost to Prospect Park budding flowers! Snowdrops? lion statues at the park entrance? a lot more snow left in the park then by city buildings. Felt much cooler in spots from the snow chilling the ground You gotta fight for your right to party I always wanted a Kurdish Library… nice colors back to red brick or red stone everywhere gloomy the next day. Rainy morning Downtown Brooklyn skyscrapers in the fog

Those fresh leaves are such a nice sight. More than two months to go here. This time of year is often the ugliest in Dfb/Dfc or similar climates with cold/snowy winters, but to be honest I kind of like it as long as it isn't rainy. Thankfully, most of these climates do have their dry season in late winter and/or spring like Anchorage and most of Scandinavia for example.
