Sandy, Oregon is even closer and offers similar rain and snow amounts without the freezing rain and dry east wind bullshit you get in the Gorge. 40 miles farther east to The Dalles for summer heat, but then you're in a dry climate. Unfortunately I live on the lame side of Portland
