Death Valley, late September. Still very hot for being in late September, but which forecasts in Australia should one look out for the next five-six months? Beercules is so welcome to contribute to the heat stroke forecast thread since he's the expert of way too hot places Also, which is the hottest climate in the South American/Argentine summer? Would like to follow that!

I love how they use multiple colorful phrases for "sunny."

I'm waiting for when these really hot places are slightly below average and they say "Tuesday, 43C. Cool"

That's probably a month before today if so if we're dealing with Death Valley or Ahvaz

Pretty impressive for NSW I take it? Not for those places, they're far inland.

Not for those places, they're far inland. Near Queensland in latitude also?

Not for those places, they're far inland. Near Queensland in latitude also? Wilcannia and Tibooburra are. I mean 46C is exceptional but the heatwave aspect isn't, should have made that more clear. The most exceptional is Griffith; two days in a row where they could break a record December high, and a 30°C low thrown in there as well. Funnily enough I've experienced shit similar to that down here

200 km south of my (SW to be fair) is the crummer-a-geddon and England cloud level Växjö, so I guess I'm luckier in that sense

I'm waiting for when these really hot places are slightly below average and they say "Tuesday, 43C. Cool" At first glance, I would think Firebird's Phoenix temperatures were a typo.

too late in the season, but Southern California can get some impressive late season heat. Los Angeles Airport had a max of 94°F / 34.5°C on November 22 and 86°F / 30°C on December 9th. And it's a mile or so from the Pacific Ocean. Not many places at that latitude record those temperatures. New Delhi, India much further south has a record high of 97°F in November, 84°F in December. Looks like Tripoli has recorded hotter than Los Angeles, and Tripoli is somewhat analogous to Los Angeles in being Mediterranean and close to a hot desert.
