Hey everyone,
What is a balanced annual mean to you guys where neither cold nor warm weather dominates and/or where all 4 seasons are balanced? From a discussion @qidb602 and I were having...
For me i think 12.5c is about right (places like nyc, portland, lyon, seoul) so voted 13c.
I partially agree with qidb though that maybe 14-15c would represent a better balance of cool/cold and warm/hot weather.

13°-16° C, thereby voted 14° C as the median.
Climates such as Bathurst, Wagga, Grenfell, Young, Cowra, Gundagai, Temora, and so forth.

In terms of balance of warm/hot weather and cool/cold weather I'd say 15C annual mean like Washington DC or Rome. However in terms of balanced seasons it would be 12-13C like NYC.

10-12 C. Rochester is pretty balanced at 9 C but slightly warmer would be more even.

A mean around the freezing point with frigid winters but comfortable summers would be my favorite.

I've gone with 15C. Both my dream climate and current climate have it.

Ah sorry for the misunderstanding, but I was asking not what annual mean do you prefer for your dream climate, but what annual mean do you view as balanced between seasons and/or between warm/hot and cool/cold weather, so that neither cold and/or winter nor heat and/or summer dominates the year.

18°C for me, lower options seem more biased towards continental, oceanic and temperate transistional climates

How does annual mean tell you the balance between seasons? San Francisco and Turpan have the same annual mean.

I'd say a 10 C annual mean is "well balanced" between cool and warm weather in continental climates. So a climate like Omaha or Des Moines would be well balanced in not having cool or warm weather dominating throughout the year.

I think somewhere around the 10 to 12 Celsius range for me. Windsor, ON has a mean of 10.7C in the Riverside station and that climate seems pretty well balanced by my personal standards.

I'd say that, overall, a climate with ~15-16°C annual mean is the most balanced between warm and cool seasons, though Rome feels slightly cool-biased with the seasonal lag in spring. I agree with @qidb602 that continental climates would need a slightly lower annual mean to feel balanced, so for continental climates it would be ~13°C whereas for subtropical/Mediterranean climates it would be around 16.5-17°C.

Frankfurt is a bit an the cold side but warm years like 2018 felt pretty balanced so I would say about 13 °C.

15ºC, like the rough annual temperature of Earth now. This is where I would divide the line.
