The main reason we moved out of Courbevoie was stressed by often seen poisson d'argent in a bathroom at night as already explained before however I'm thankful for everything here for having a year-round cooler environment, relatively sparse population density for optimized social distancing.

I've seen the thermometer reading as high as 37 C (probably a bit high) but probably 30-33 C is typical without aircon during the afternoon. The highest indoor temperature I've seen was 35°C last August, but typical afternoon indoor temperatures are in the 28-31°C range. It's 26°C in the living room right now and it feels perfect. A 30C indoor temp is miserable to me. 26 is tolerable but hotter than ideal. Do you want it that hot, or do you have no other option? My average indoor temp is around 25. Decent if I'm in front of a fan and I am usually near a fan in summer. I have an AC unit to stop it from getting too much above that.

I prefer having fresh air, and I couldn't care less about how hot it gets indoors TBH, I sleep outdoors in the hottest days. Now back in NC I would set the A/C to 78°F, albeit more to control the humidity indoors; without A/C the natural indoor temperature would be in the 83-86°F range.

Do you prefer fresh air in the winter too? Rome gets much milder winters but having windows open all the time would be very chilly.

If I were alone then I'd open the windows in the milder winter days (above 55°F or so), but my parents are a bit overdramatic in the sense of that they keep the windows shut whenever the heat is on (in winter that is; air temperature below 65°F or so). What is your limit for too hot/too cold to open the windows?

What is your limit for too hot/too cold to open the windows? I don't have a hard temperature limit. But I close them and use air conditioning when it's too hot inside and not going to cool off in a few hours. I don't like indoor temps above 80/27, or lower if the humidity is very high.
On a high of 86/30, definitely closed. If the humidity is high and the low is in the 70s I will close them all night too. Opening windows to 72/22 and 100% humidity doesn't help.
On a high in the low 80s, it depends on the humidity and indoor temp. In the 70s they're open. During summer I aim for the coolest indoor temp I can, then use AC if I can't keep it manageable.Unless it is a mild day, I'll close windows and blinds during the day when I am gone then open them at night.
For cold, I'll open them sometimes in winter if it's mild, but not all the way. Mild days (50/10) only happen a few times a winter. If the high is 60/16 I will probably open them but close at night since the low is usually in the 40s. I don't mind 59/15 inside but prefer low 60s.

I have virtually no limit on how hot the outdoor temperature is for opening the windows; even when it is 100°F outside I'll still open the windows; though I usually close the windows at night when the overnight low is below 60°F or so. With indoor temperatures though, my experience is only up to 95°F, and it was very tolerable with acclimatization + the windows open for a breeze. Now indoor temperatures above 100°F are uncertain, but I probably can tolerate the high 90s/low 100s indoors with a breeze if it is a dry heat.

I don't think many people would enjoy an indoor temp that high.
As far as indoor temperatures go: Today was 75/61 outside (24/16) and partly cloudy. Indoor was 76/71 (24/22). I had windows open, and a fan blowing air in at night. Currently a comfortable 75F/24C at 10pm. Based on the forecast, 71 is the coolest it will get this month.

Yeah houses in cooler climates are built to have lots of heat capacity & trap heat, with a similar high/low temperature as you had today (typical weather here for late May or early October) and the windows open day/night the indoor temperature here would have been 72/66. It is 83°F/28°C inside and 87°F outside as I write this comment; comfy but erring towards the warm side since I'm used to the heat, it might cross the 90°F mark for the first time this year.

It reached 69 earlier this week so I was wrong. Today was hot outside and my AC didn't keep up. It got up to 81F/27C and 75% humidity (dew of 72/22)

31.6°C in the living room as of now – it'll get yet even warmer in the coming days... I don't mind it TBH.

Acclimation sure happens quickly, I remember getting goosebumps, and having to wear a sweater with 23°C indoor temperatures last September! I was totally not used to the cold.
