This past weekend, the outdoor temps got down to about -7C. At one point I was sitting indoors, sedentary for a couple hours, and my hands and feet were feeling like cold bricks of lead attached to my body. So I checked the indoor temp and that is what it came out to. That was just my room though, rest of the apartment (kitchen, hallway, etc) were warmer, around 14 or 15 C (keeping my indoor temps like that helps to alleviate the boredom of our lame ass winters). Sub 10C room temp was fine for a couple days, drank lots of cups of hot water, but the main problem with that method of warming up was... well, the natural physiological reaction to overhydration. For sleeping I actually had to use my outdoors sleeping bag... indoors (the green thing). Anyways, 13C indoors now feels straight up comfortable to me. Today it got to 17C inside the room which actually felt downright warm. |

I made a thing  I've been keeping my apartment relatively cool recently with regular opening of the attic or balcony door. It's been pretty pleasant. When I had the christmas stuff, I had to have my plants right by the balcony door, so I had to use the attic only for cooling down to not hurt the plants. Now they're all a fair distance from the balcony door which means I can lower the apartment temperature drastically in less than a minute. Relative humidity doesn't seem to change with temperature like it should, but I never really expect normal thermometer and hygrometer combos to measure humidity accurately. |

Opened my windows for a couple hours this evening as it was the mildest day in almost two weeks (and my radon levels were spiking).
Temperature went from 21.0C and 18% humidity when I got home from work to 14.6C and 13% humidity when I finally closed the windows. Half an hour later it got back up to 17.3C and 17% humidity.
Radon levels continued spiking for a bit, going from 166 Bq/m3 at the start to 174 an hour later, then dropped down to 149 shortly after having closed my windows. Not sure if that was a natural fluctuation or induced by the ventilation (I would assume the latter certainly helped, but who knows). Gonna test it out this weekend when temperatures go up around freezing and I can actually air out my place for the better part of a day.

It didn't get much below 16°C in the lounge this morning, which shows how mild it's been compared to the week before when it was going down to 12°C.
