Launceston for me; a very good A climate, whereas Nizhny-Novgorod is a bit of a nasty D+ climate with excessive winters, although summers are alright.

Nizhny Novgorod is epically horrible.

Nizhny Novgorod, it's an A climate, summer could be a bit warmer. I'm assuming those rain days are bogus.
Launceston is a very good climate but it doesn't have snowy winters so the best it can rate is a B. I would move some of the winter rainfall to the summer and increase the record highs to the low 40's.

Launceston. Rare example of a battle where the cold climate is too cold compared to the "winterless" climate.

Launceston. The Russian place is just too cold for too long and then has a lukewarm washed out summer as a reward.

@logan5 would you pick Launceston over Motueka? Averages are close but spending time in each place might feel very different.

L.A.U.N.C.E.S.T.O.N.
Easiest climate battle EVAH!
It takes a special kind of suicidal, to pick the Russian ice-box.

Launceston reluctantly, as both have shit summers. Nizhny Novgorod's winters are actually pretty similar to mine.

Nizhny. Amazing summers, cold (aka. nice) winters. Decent summer rain (t-storm chance) with a ton of snow during winter and moderate variability. Nearly the perfect climate.
