But that is a cover tbf, hence sounding much more modern. These were also recorded in '69. I think Deep Purple sounded heavier than Sabbath were during this period tbh.

from another US 60s band with folk-ish leanings. Great ode to immaturity, great birthday song

nei First band (Fairport Convention) is surprisingly alright, but the second band (Jefferson Airplane) sounds downright strange to me—certainly get a hippie-like notion from that one!

Fairport Convention is British, might help you like it more. Here's another British folk band from that era

Today I ended to listen to old De Andrè songs (late 60s up to 1970), and I thought to try to share some of them. ^ translation here

One of the greatest 60's hits. It sounds so ahead of its time.

One of the greatest 60's hits. It sounds so ahead of its time. I'm always down for the Bee Gees, definitely a top 5 band for me. I think the 60's song that sounds the most ahead of its time is this. It sounds futuristic even now. LSD must have been a wonderful thing.

Geez, that's from 1966? The fuck. That's insane. The album in general sounds like something from the 90's, I can't imagine what it would have been like to hear it in 1966.

Often said to be the first true Hard Rock song.
