Some people credit Paul McCartney as the inventor of heavy metal because of this song. I think it's a bit of a stretch, although it was very heavy for 1968, definitely an influence on the development of the genre. True Heavy Metal began a year later, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin. Fun fact: This song was also the inspiration for the Manson murders, even though the lyrics were intentionally nonsensical, Manson saw them as a prophecy of an apocalyptic war in which racist and non-racist whites would be manoeuvred into virtually exterminating each other over the treatment of blacks  |

Knew this song since Kindergarten when another group of kids were using in a talent show.
Then finally I find out the title because I heard through radio today on the way back home after going out for groceries.
