A+++++++++ Better than any climate in Hokkaido to be honest. Amazing snowy and cold winters! Summers are wet and pleasant, but not too wet.

B; epic winters, albeit too cold; the other factors keeping it below B+ or greater, are its sorrowfully narrow diurnal range in summer, alongside being too cool and somewhat too wet in summer (11 precipitation days are too much for summer).
Much better than Hokkaido, indeed. Hokkaido = muggy, boring, washed-out crummers.

Giorbanguly will love this spring warmup E for me. While snowy winters are nice, the drizzly summers, the cold springs and a bit too cold winters aren't ideal.

Beautiful winters, crap summers, too much seasonal delay, amount of precipitation is nice. Final verdict: B- (good climate, but could use some tweaks).

A, only because summer highs could be a bit higher. Otherwise would be A+

E, too cold, too wet. True, record highs of September and October aren't the worst.

A-, those winters are quite a bit too cold but with the snow and the beautiful summers I think I could handle it Great find!

B-. Good winters, spring and summer are too cold. C+ if sunshine is very low.

E. I can deal with those winter temperatures if the rest of the year is nice but spring/summer/fall are ridiculously cool, and it's way too wet year round considering the temperatures. Nasty climate.

What are the sunshine hours like? Looks kinda wet but still an A from me. Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk has 1928 hours. Dolinsk is almost certainly lower, possibly a lot lower.

Dolinsk is only 25 miles / 41km to the north with similar terrain. But I can see why it might be cloudier as it's close to the north edge of the coastline.

It looks like Dolinsk would have similar summers to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk but cloudier winters.
