Up for comparison are two of my favourite continental climates. Rate!! Boulder: Flagstaff: My favourite would go to Boulder because it doesn't get as cold at night on average and gets more winter warmth. Main gripe is that it gets really windy.

Boulder; since their snowfall is similar, I'll take its chance of 40Β° C over Flagstaff's better winter temps.

Might have to go with Flagstaff for more Funderstorms.
Two great climates though.
Flagstaff got snow on May 27th this year!

Boulder for me because it's warmer. Seems like Boulder has a big lead here.

Boulder for hotter summers, more variability and being more interesting.

Boulder, it has nicer temps. I wouldn't view either as traditionally continental though, more as semicontinental/subtropical highland.

Flagstaff. Flagstaff is colder and has more snow in the winter months. I like Boulder's precipitation pattern better for summer, but Flagstaff has better temperatures all year. July and August are getting too hot in Boulder, and winter isn't cold enough. Flagstaff is too sunny, but Boulder is not much different.

I'm not sure how I'd handle all the sunshine but Flagstaff for me as well.

Boulder for being warmer and having slightly drier winters.
