One of my stops on my vacation in 2018. Fantastic small town, and honestly, quite close to ideal climate for me. So A+ obviously

F+, intriguing (but quite bad) that winter temps have more downward bit less upward variability than my area.

I think I was there when I went to Alaska, could be mistaking it for Tanana, not sure, Iβve been to 1 or both of them.
Anyway the climate sucks, E-. I prefer Fairbanks.

B+. Summer is not warm enough and the second half is too wet. Winter is great but a bit too long. Very good for Alaska.
Nearby Skwentna is better for me. It has warmer summer highs, 69.8 in July. Summer is drier and winter gets more snow. The wettest month is September, followed by December and August. Nights are 4F colder on average and winter is colder though. Look at the 1981-2010 normals to compare with the Talkeetna wiki box.
If you want even more snow, Hayes River is further west and higher elevation. It gets over 4" of precipitation in December and January with similar temps. Spring is colder due to deep snow cover. Don't go too far west or you reach Puntilla which is much colder even though it is not much higher. Puntilla is at 1840', Hayes River 1000, Skwentna 150, Talkeetna 350'.
