In 2014 Norway opened a new station called Nedre Eggedal. Its averages so far are quite interesting don't you think? (Precipitation is the 61-90 average from Eggedal III) Note: This is just for fun, and I'm definitely not saying that the climate actually looks like this there.Even ignoring the fact that sunshine, even if unobstructed would probably only reach like 1300h if even that, I'd still pick any low altitude Swedish climate from Gladhammar to Halmstad. Even though the winters are relatively short lasting, they're still as cold as UmeΓ₯ in January and I want none of that. I imagine this weatherbox could be a lot of people's favorites in the Nordics. (Note, obviously this is a very skewed weatherbox since it's only 5 years long, during which there were huge anomalies)

C. Winter is great but the warm season is too short. That July is nice though.

C-. My favorite Nordic station. Would be interesting to see what it averages after 15 years or so.

If sunshine was 1300 hours or less like you said, then F+. If sunshine was decent, then D-.

In 1961-90, the closest observations of sunhrs was at Oslo which averaged 1669, Γ
s which averaged 1635 hrs, and inland at Ringsaker with 1553 hrs annually. As we all know, 61-90 had fewer sunhrs than recent decades in Southern and Mid-Scandinavia, also due to less aerosols (pollution) in the air in recent decades. None of these stations are very close, as Eggedal is west of Oslo. To the west but stil east of the mountains, only observation is at Kristiansand with 1778 hrs annually in 61-90. But Kristiansand is further away. To get as little as 1300 hrs, there has to be terrain blocking there at a imagined recorder there. And in that case it's not just cloudiness that get the average so low.

C-. My favorite Nordic station. Would be interesting to see what it averages after 15 years or so. Gulsvik II nearby has 10 years of data. Using the differences for each month for the five years they've been co-online for (except july and august 2019 when Gulsvik was offline), I extrapolated Nedre Eggedal's 2008-2018 average. I should've used Notodden which is further away and less similar but actually has 15 years of data, but I can't be bothered to redo this right now. I checked some other stations nearby, and for them the 2008-2018 average coaligned pretty well with the 2002-2018 average. Most months within 0.3'C from eachother.

No indications of variability levels whatsoever, so I cannot rate it. Also, drongo...you forgot the poll!

Nice climate. Similar to my fictional dream climate. B. Would get an A if it was sunnier (more closer to 1,850hrs) and warmer June/August.

No indications of variability levels whatsoever, so I cannot rate it. Also, drongo...you forgot the poll! It's very variable. Probably has the highest average annual maximum and number of 30'C days/year in the Nordics. Also, yeah I forgot. Thanks for reminding me.

Aβ; summers nice and variable, but could use a lot more heat.
Winters excellent, but could use more precipitation...and they are also a tad too chilly for me. The precip pattern should be the other way around.
Perhaps the best climate in all of Northern Europe!

C. Decent temperatures but it sounds like the sunshine hours are much too low for my liking, and the precipitation is a bit much in the fall.
