Is there a reason for Eastern Coastal Asia not getting any cyclones during the winter? Why is it so dry? I understand the Siberian High has a tremendous effect on the climate but does this halt the production of cyclones off the coast completely?

China isn't really on the coast of East Asia, as the Yellow Sea is small and very shallow. It would be more comparable to the Plains or Midwest in the US, while being drier due to the Siberian High. There is no significant source of moisture in winter in North China. The eastern coast of Japan is drier than the US east coast in winter, but not completely dry. Korea isn't bone dry either. Being farther from the center of the Siberian High's influence also makes it wetter.
