(slightly edited from the original welcome message) The World Weather Forum was originally set up as a place to discuss the weather around the world as well as any other topics of interest. This forum was also set up in the belief that it is possible to run a successful forum with moderation and rules being kept to the bare minimum - a bunch of us initially knew each other, and we grew dissatisfied with another forum we were on having too many rules and regulations. There are just a few things you need to know before posting: - There will be only one account allowed per person - this way we know who we're talking to and we know how many different real members we have posting here. - You will have to register and wait to be accepted. - Stay on topic as much as possible. Threads that are placed in the wrong subforum will be moved. You can also report these posts to the admin/mods so that we can move them to the appropriate thread. - No topic of conversation is off-limits in the Chat subforum or the shoutbox. The only rules, as elsewhere in the forum, are that blatant and disruptive spamming/trolling or harassment of other posters is not permitted - nothing else will be moderated. - What happens here stays here! This is a forum which believes in free speech, so it's only natural that people tend to be less guarded about what they say than on other forums. We want this to be a pleasant and laid back place for us all to enjoy, but it will only work if we all make the effort to make it work. If you have any issues or queries, please feel free to message me or the other two moderators - Babu and nei Thank you and enjoy! P.S - PLEASE read the other pinned post about server capacity, it's very important that we don't use up all the server space.

Update on bans:
Hi everyone. It's been quite obvious that the rules around banning aren't quite clear, and that the original set of rules haven't been followed at all. That's why I would like to propose a new set of rules around this, which will be the new rules from now on.
We will work primarily on a 3-warning system:
If myself or the mods receive a message that a member is acting in bad faith (i.e. continual targeted harassment, doxxing), we will issue a warning to that member.
If it happens again, another warning will be sent, this time with a reminder of their last warning and what will happen following another warning.
After a third warning, myself or the mods will open a poll on the member. The poll will last for 5 days and the forum can decide whether the member should be voted out or not.
If the poll is tied (which you people keep fucking managing to do) then the member can stay on but WILL be banned upon the next indiscretion without a poll. No ifs or buts, we have to have some standards here. This system is about as lenient as I can make it without just encouraging straight up anarchy.
If the member survives (wins) their poll, then they can stay on. However, their warnings won't reset, and if they are warned again then they will be banned for 1 week.
If they lose, well it's pretty obvious what happens there.
Note: If you are sending a message to us about a member acting in bad faith, make sure it's for a legitimate reason, like the ones I mentioned above. The reasons for warnings/bans will still stay the same, as free speech on this forum is a priority over everything.
Now, in terms of members opening polls on other members for banning reasons: Any of these polls opened from now onwards will be illegitimate. All previous polls will still stand. If anyone has a problem with a member from now on then you will need to follow this system.
Hopefully this will add some stability to the forum.
