-3 for sure! Snow
+3 or say 6/0, 5/1 is serious nonsense, just everything's dead outside and not warm enough to do proper long-distance cycling anyway. November is proper nonsense here and it usually averages between 2 and 4, whereas those Januaries and Februaries that actually get close to the historical normals are epic occurrences.

Is this just in general? Then +3. If it's just for winter, then -3.

+3c winter mean is close to my ideal, like grenoble or the upper south. -3c is too cold, still probably decent though and semi-enjoyable at times unlike extreme cold.

-3 which makes 4.2/-0.3 (2.0) January and 22.3/12.8 (17.5) July.

Every month or only winter? Winter. I shall change my vote to -3 then. More chance of snow

Most climates are not stable. A 3C climate will have periods of 1-2 weeks with mean like -1C to -4C and might have lying dry snow then. Similarly, it will have weeks with mean 6C - 10C in winter, allowing cycling and other activites.
Also, a -3C climate will have periods in winter with mean -6 to -10C. And periods with mean 0C to 3C.
That's the case with my climate here, we have periods with well below avg, and then periods with well above average.

-3C
-1/-5 or -2/-4 would be ideal.
+3 would be suicide

Every month or only winter? Winter. Still definitely +3 for me, help take some of the bite out of winter. However, if it was a choice between winter and spring or summer I think I would give it to spring/summer and leave winter as it is. Winter's cold enough that a 3C increase won't make it feel that much milder, but an additional 3C at some point in the warmer half of the year would make a huge difference for me and help make the seasons feel a bit more balanced overall.

To be fair, for someone to live in Saskatchewan, I can really get your sentiment on this one It's a bit different having lived in a place that balances around zero all winter long all my life, then +3 weather gets old real quick. My ideal winter around here for a realistic one on my latitude would be -1/-6 or thereabouts, not the 1/-5 currently in operation.

In a +3'C winter, very few winters would go without a single week averaging below freezing temps with snow cover. Most winters would have at least a couple or weeks of snow on the ground. But compared to -3'C averages, the harshest winters and the harshest weeks would never be anywhere near as miserable. And because snowy and wintery weather is more rare, you'd be able to enjoy it while it lasted and look forward to it, and the rest of the time be comfortable in cool but mild weather.

+3Β° C, with chilling rains and heavy snowfall. Receive the good stuff, but without the terrors of frigid cold.
My ideal winter yields a mean of about 0Β° C, however; β4Β° / 3Β° C, for the best example.
