So...can the number of posts per page be different for each thread? The pages in the photo threads can get very long, and sometimes I lose my place and have to scroll for a while to find where I was. Once in a while the page refreshes for no reason, too. I think these threads would be better with fewer posts per page. However, I don't want every thread to have the shorter pages. On most threads the pages are a decent size and if the pages get too small, it is annoying also. Some forums it feels like I spend too much time switching pages.
Putting posts in spoilers is an alternative option, but most people won't do this and clicking to open each post is probably slower anyway.

Unfortunately I'm pretty sure you can't have different page lengths for different threads, which is too bad because I totally agree about the photo thread pages becoming too long.

Without the full-stop symbols (.), of course.^
And NO, you do not "have to click each individual picture", because you can do what I do here:

[./spoiler]
That way, once you click the spoiler, the entire album within the spoiler bracket(s) will present itself.

That could be an idea. To enforce a rule that all photo albums in the photo thread must be placed within a spoiler

I think the spoiler thing is probably the best way to deal with this right now. Maybe also allow a few (2 or 3?) non-spoiler photos per post to give a taste of what the photo set will look like without having to click on every post, which would also make it easier to locate a particular post within the thread if you forgot who posted it.

I like the spoiler idea. Either way, something must be done because the photo threads become unreadable after the 4th or 5th post.

The spoiler idea is great. Also splitting up the photos so that there is a maximum of 5 per post, or something to that effect.

I personally prefer long albums instead of many smaller albums, both to upload myself and when viewing others' albums. And if we all use spoilers for our posts splitting the albums up would be redundant anyway |
