Z fucken minus.
No redeeming features whatsoever. Feels like dark already one hour before sunset and the additional gift that keeps on giving called standard time just makes it worse. Single-digits all the time and whenever there's some miniscule snow it evaporates for some damp nonsense. Somehow this dampness is on the ground even when it hasn't rained. Every other evening has fog outside of urban areas, dew points are out of control in relation to the air temp, the sun is weaker than a low-energy lamp and to make matters worse not even milkman can get enough Vitamin D this month.
FUCK NOVEMBER

Swedish November != mid-latitude Novembers,
Don't mind it here, it seems fairly nice and a gradual cool down. I think Swedish novembers, while chilly and gloomy are still better than having november be a subarcticy winter month, cool rain seems much more liveable. don't mind a cozy but sombre aesthetic. B, maybe a C/C- for nordic novembers.

Solid F, the worst month by far. There's usually no snow so it feels even darker than December, the most interesting weather is near-freezing drizzle, diurnal ranges are inexistent and sunshine is a distant memory. Part of why I like subarctic climates is that November is a solid winter month, not this depressing limbo.

Hiromant I would hate northern Novembers. Cold, dark, wet and brown is not what you want

November is the best month for heavy rain and windstorms in Portland, and usually we can still get some 60+ days during the first half of the month. Other than that, it’s pointless with no skiing. And apparently this Povember we’re not getting any rain or mountain snow whatsoever D

B. Pretty good month, too wet and I’d like some more warm days though.

May = B+
It is usually a wet, occasionally snowy month; too, one of the most stable months here. Low evaporation rate and frequently cloud-dominated skies (chiefly dark, low-layer polar stratus cloud), as well as healthy amounts of precipitation, mark the beginning of my green season; that lovely, deep emerald shade of green which cannot even be dreamt-of in earlier i.e. warmer and drier parts of autumn.
If it were more variable and frontally active (like August or September), it'd get a much higher rating.

A-. Probably not the best month of the year but there are quite a lot of advantages in my sentiment. Beautiful foliage on the street, chilly enough to wear stylish jacket, pesky insects are almost vanished, it’s the first month after the summer when record high temperature falls below 25℃. I love a serenity of late autumn vibe and a signal of upcoming winter.

B. Beautiful foliage at the beginning, rapidly transitioning to bare landscapes. A gentle punch in the face on the first chilly day too; it's probably the month on which you can sense the seasons progressing the most. I love the ever shortening days, it fits well with the pre-Christmas atmosphere. Also the first snowfalls are always something to look forward to. Now I'd appreciate it even more if I lived in a continental climate, not one where I get to "enjoy" 4 Novembers in a row.

For here it's an E. Dark, dreary, depressing, and dank. Lack of sunshine and no snow sucks.
Despite less daylight, November in Anchorage is much better and is a solid winter month with avg high/lows commonly around 22-28F/10-20F and thus a solid snowpack. Not this year though!

C-. Usually the first winter weather shows up this month, which keeps it from an even lower grade. Some mild, comfortable weather is common as well. But it tends to get a lot of boring weather, like today: 37/32F (3/0C) and cloudy. Daylight savings time ends at the start of the month, so I stop having daylight after work. This makes the month feel extra dreary and dark. Fall colors are done or almost done, but the grass is still green, so it's not a constant brown like it is at the start of spring.
A good November could be a B at best. Last November was a good one, and so was the first half of this year. A bad one could be a D.
November 1992 was terrible. The average was 42/33F (6/1C), full range just 56 to 21F (13 to -6C), and it had 5.40"/137mm of rain on 19 days and only 0.4"/1.0cm of snow mixed in.
November 2014 was decent. It started off with some warm days in the 50s and 60s, then the second half of the month was mostly below freezing. It finished at 40/25F (4/-4C) and 1.84" rain/ 4.7" snow on 12 days. The best part is that it skipped a lot of the near-freezing boring weather we normally get in November.

D-. Probably the worst month, cloudy and drizzly with stagnant temperatures and no frosts or heat. However, the past couple of Mays have been quite variable and rainy, otherwise I would have put E+.

A- The averages are pleasantly cool, and it finally becomes more cloudy. There can be some cold days or snow, but it's not yet super common. There's still some fall foliage early in the month. I just wish it was a bit cloudier and cooler, and maybe slightly rainier.

C. Nothing particularly offensive about it. Avg highs 20C, can get close to 30C. Reasonable sunshine hours, 6.6/day at the nearest recorder in Mildura.
