Istres is a Southern French climate, slightly inland from the Med, with what could be described as a drier version of Rome with an early peak of the rainfall season.
My rating is a B+
I don't like the summer lows there in combination with the highs and winters would perhaps be a bit stale, but at least there seems to be a potential for quite frequent frosts, some of them quite severe so that's a positive. Having very few precipitation days but still getting to 554.3 mm is a bonus, however. As for sunshine, you know the deal. Very sunny by European standards but maybe not by Aridzona ones. Marseille has 2,858 hours/year and it's 40 miles away.
By the way, those June 2019 records look rather hilarious in comparison to the other months!

B-, it's on the dry side, a pinch too warm in july and august, and somewhat too mild in winter. Transition seasons seem pleasant.

C–; boring, stable, muggy yet storm-less summers; fair, but dry winters.

C+, not bad but not very good either. Cooler summers and a bit more summer rain would help. I like the ratio of rainfall to rainy days.
