Anyone been watching the new Witcher series? I think it's pretty good, although the storytelling is a bit convoluted, it seems to expect the audience to have already read the books.

I haven't read the books and only briefly played the games but I liked it. Had to watch a youtube video to make sense of the convoluted timeline though.

It would be much easier to follow if they at least told us when they were jumping back and forth through the timeline. The fact that nobody seems to age doesn't help either.

Watched the first episode the other guy. Kind of felt like a simplified, watered down Game of Thrones but it was entertaining and Iβll keep watching.

Watched the first episode the other guy. Kind of felt like a simplified, watered down Game of Thrones but it was entertaining and Iβll keep watching. The books it's based on are older than Game of Thrones. The reason it's so simplified is because the first season is based on a bunch of short stories rather than the full novels. It's done in quite a confusing way, jumps backwards and forwards in time without making it clear to the viewer. Second season is supposed to be more coherent because it starts following the novels, but I haven't seen it yet.

^^^ A lot of valid points, especially it being impossible to tell if they've gone backwards and forwards in the story becauses of the lack character aging. Witchers age really slowly, Geralt is supposed to about 100 years old, but still has the body of a man in his 30s I don't agree that it lacks comedy, the Jaskier character is pretty funny.

Just finished it the other day, somewhat rushed and some character relationships seemed forced but overall pretty good. I always like shows set in medieval times like that so it was definitely enjoyable.
