Besançon, since Dallas is too oppressive in summer into September and too bland in winter. It's a bit on the gloomy side, but not too bad otherwise, with good winter temps but summer somewhat milder than preferred. Further south near Grenoble/Lyon and NW Italy seems near ideal. I'm guessing Freiburg is warmer since it's at a lower elevation? rozenn

I choose Dallas; no contest. It is superior in every way, including temperatures, sunshine, and precipitation. It is a solid A climate. It would be an A+ if it had dry heat in summer.

Besançon, cooler all year. Good summer temperatures, but too mild in winter. The average lows in Dallas would be decent for high temperatures. Summers are way too hot for me.
