Bradford is just inside the NW European zone where May is the sunniest month because the Atlantic is still cold enough not to have as much of an effect on our weather, meaning that easterlies (which bring clearer skies than the usual Atlantic fronts) are more common than later in the summer. Interestingly compared to the other cities below, our sunshine goes back up in July because we get more of a continental influence.
Bradford: May 164, June 153, July 163 (I thought that looked a little low, May was 184 hours from 2011-19 btw so expect that average to go up in 1991-2020) Belfast: May 198, June 168, July 151 Stavanger: May 226, June 222, July 197 Torshavn: May 138, June 129, July 104 Reykjavik: May 201, June 174, July 168 Glasgow: May 180, June 159, July 154 Lerwick: May 181, June 146, July 124
One of the starkest examples of this trend I could find is Tiree in the Outer Hebrides because it is sheltered by mountains to its east: May 239, June 206, July 174.

July - by both absolute numbers and by percentage, and both in KC and at college.
In fact, it appears to be July in every location I've ever lived in. (No sunshine data for where I was born, but nearby cities like Houston and Shreveport seem to match up).

June for Norrköping.
274 hours.
I think April at 225 hours should be the highest possible percentage-wise. May at 267 hours should be close but given how much the daylight differs, I can't imagine April being beneath May for percentages.

Since 2000, by average hours/by percent possible. Pretty all over the place, September has the highest average, and the most months since 2000, although it's August by percentage. Summer is actually the gloomiest season by percentage.

July(212.2 hrs/43%) for absolute value, August(212.1 hrs/49%) for percentage. It's just barely beating by 0.1 hours compare to difference of the possible percentage so I can say August has good potential to have sunniest month so far.

I only have data from 2001 to 2016 because the FMI decided to hid the sunshine data for commercial purposes. So only 2010-2016 featured here.
I: 45 II: 69 III: 170 IV: 212 V: 276 VI: 275 VII: 303 VIII: 241 IX: 160 X: 114 XI: 32 XII: 25 TOTAL: 1922
So it's July I guess

273 hrs in January (or 8.8 hrs per day). Although the haze / polution becomes increasingly bad in Jan so probably Dec seems sunnier with 262 hrs (8.5 per day).

That's wayyyyy more than here and even quite a bit more than DC which I would assume would have more sun than Rochester
