Sankt Gallen is an upland climate 250 metres in elevation and 10 km by the road above the Rohrschach area on Bodensee in Northern Switzerland. Orographic lift is sizeable and thus it turns into something certain members might describe as I reckon the place will be ablaze with thunderstorms in summer courtesy of the high rain/day ratio and also being in a mountainous area where cooler and warmer air meet. Bregenz on the Austrian side of the border is besides the precipitation, a good example of what the lakeside right next to St. Gallen will look like, in other words 2°C warmer most of the time.
All that being said, I'll give it an E+.
Although lower locations such as Bregenz are somewhat salvaged by tolerable summers, this one does not have many saving graces. Okay, sure, the snow will pack up in colder winters, but there aren't many below-average ones in Europe nowadays anyway. Meteo Swiss seem to be really bad at measuring extremes but correlating Zürich's averages with the extremes might be of help as for judging what St. Gallen might be like. My guess would be an all-time record high of 34°C anyway. Tougher to call the cold record but probably mid negative 20's.

B
Not sure how much of that non-winter precipitation comes from thunderstorms.
Decent winters. I'd like to see the extreme temps but I could guess closely I'm sure.

Above all, winters have a really good snow yield for the temperatures and precipitation in question. Considering how British Columbia is like in places such as Bella Coola it's night and day!
The thunderstorm frequency is a bit of a tough guess given it's not actually that warm, but I reckon there will be many showers that will have thunderstorm-like rain frequency regardless. I rather like listening to those stormless deluges to be honest.

D-, think the milder winters and nicer spring warmup place this a step ahead of places like St John's, but poor nonetheless. I don't mind the winter temps (perhaps a smidgen chilly and long), but the rest of the year just seems too cool, gloomy, and washed out.

C–; disgustingly cloudy and washed-out summers, as well as autistic precipitation pattern (summer peak)—and no, I don't give a fuck about "epic thunderstorms" when crummers are that cloudy and gay.
Winters are absolutely handsome, however; thereby sparing this gaybo climate from a much worse rating.

It does seem quite cold for its location, but then I checked on wikipedia and it's between 500 and 1050 metres in elevation, not 250.

Bodensee = 396 m asl Rohrschach = lakeside St. Gallen = 600-700 m asl.

E.
Nov-Feb are great, but the rest of the year is far too cold/wet/cloudy.
